WHAT DOES AN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYSTEMS ANALYSIS/APPLICATIONS SOFTWARE) DO? As an Information Technology Specialist (Systems Analysis/Application Software) you will be responsible for the design, development, modification, implementation and support of new or existing application software products within IRS organizational components. These applications are broad in scope and involve difficult and complex systems analysis and applications software assignments. In this position, you will develop components of national projects assigned to the local IRS installation or lead the local implementation of IRS-wide software projects with little supervisory oversight or guidance. As a Information Technology Specialist (Systems Analysis/Application Software) you will:
Provide technical guidance during a significant project in designing, coding, testing, debugging, translating and interpreting functional requirements. Translate and interpret functional requirements involved with the local phase of national project. Apply computer assisted software engineering tools to the design and development process. Test, install, implement, document and maintain software during a significant local project or as needed to support applications. Provide guidance to less experienced coworkers in solving programming problems. Maintain source code and modify codes to support applications which have a broad impact. You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. This experience must include Information Technology (IT) related experience that demonstrates each of the following four competencies:
1) Attention to Detail, 2) Customer Service, 3) Oral Communication and 4) Problem Solving. Specialized experience for this position includes demonstrated accomplishment of computer project assignments that required a wide range of knowledge of computer requirements and techniques pertinent to the position to be filled. This knowledge is generally demonstrated through assignments that required the ability to analyze a number of alternative approaches in the process of advising management concerning major aspects of IT system design. This would include defining what system interrelationships must be considered, or what operating mode, system software, and/or equipment configuration is most appropriate for a given project.In Addition to the above:
At this level you must demonstrate knowledge and skill of:
Develop project plans; provide technical guidance to team members; serve as primary liaison between customers and vendors and IT management throughout the development process; planning and coordinating major wide implementation of process improvement methods and concepts to improve the quality of software products; serve as the principal advocate within the agency for the application of process improvement concepts and practices; consult with senior specialists and IT managers throughout the agency in the implementation of process improvement practices. - The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector or Volunteer Service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-timework is considered on a prorated basis.- To ensure full credit for your work experience, please indicate dates of employment by month/year, and indicate number of hours worked per week, on your resume. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
