Participates in patient care data collection and specific treatments as directed by staff nurse and in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures, to include IV's, phlebotomy, 12 lead EKG, foley catheter, vital signs, wound care, crutches and TEDS.
Assists pre-op/PACU and intra-op patient care areas.
Transports patients to car.
Helps set up rooms and move large equipment.
Maintains adequate levels of supplies and equipment.
Must be open to being cross-trained to multiple areas.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Required License/Certifications:
American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Current certification as a Nursing Assistant by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
Working Conditions, Equipment, Physical Demands:
There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.
Physical Demands - Medium work.
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
